AI Companion Data Deletion Check: Account, Chats and Media

A delete button can refer to a message, a character, generated media or the entire account. Build a complete deletion request by naming the data categories you want addressed.

Use current evidence. Save the page address and date. Choose “unknown” in the Trust Score when a policy is missing or contradictory.

Inventory your footprint

List the email used, profile details, characters, chat threads, uploads, generated media, voice clips, support tickets and purchase records. You cannot verify deletion if you do not know what was stored. Remove individual public items first if the service provides that control.

Read retention exceptions

Services may retain limited billing, fraud-prevention or legal records after account closure. Backups may expire on a different schedule. A useful policy distinguishes active product data from records that must be retained. “Delete instantly” without any detail is not automatically better evidence.

Submit a specific request

State the account identifier and request deletion of the account, chat content, uploads and generated media where applicable. Ask whether model-improvement copies or public gallery items are included. Do not send a password, full card number or unnecessary identity document through ordinary email.

Verify the result safely

After confirmation, try the normal login once and check whether public links still resolve. Keep the confirmation message. Do not repeatedly recreate the account with the same address merely to test deletion; that can create a new record and confuse the timeline.

Reduce future exposure

Use fictional details, avoid identifiable uploads and periodically delete chats you do not need. Data minimization is a practical habit, not a promise that any service is risk-free.

Use a deletion receipt

Record the request date, account email, categories requested, support reference, promised completion time and confirmation date. Add public media links if any existed and check them after completion. If the policy says backups expire later, record that period rather than expecting impossible instant proof. Remove saved payment methods and cancel renewal first when those are separate controls. Never include a password or full payment number. The purpose is to make the request specific and verifiable, not to collect more sensitive data. If the service asks for identity evidence, use the official secure route and question any request that seems disproportionate to the account information already held.
