12 Questions to Ask Before Paying for an AI Companion

You do not need to investigate every technical detail. You do need clear answers to the questions that affect your money, identity and private content.

Use current evidence. Save the page address and date. Choose “unknown” in the Trust Score when a policy is missing or contradictory.

Identity and support

1. Which legal operator provides the service? 2. Does the same operator appear in the terms and privacy notice? 3. Is there a working support route? Save the answers with the date and page address.

Money and renewal

4. What is the final amount and currency? 5. Is the plan recurring, and on what date does it renew? 6. Which features need separate credits? 7. What name is expected on the receipt or statement?

Privacy and content

8. Are chats or uploads used to improve the service? 9. Can generated or uploaded media become public? 10. How can chats, media and the account be deleted?

Leaving safely

11. Where is renewal cancelled? 12. Does cancellation preserve access until the end of the paid term? If important answers remain unknown, postpone payment and ask support.

Print or save your evidence

Use your browser's print command to save this page as a PDF. Add screenshots of the final checkout and cancellation wording. A five-minute evidence pack can prevent hours of confusion later.

Turn answers into a go, wait or stop decision

Use go only when the high-impact questions—operator, checkout, renewal, cancellation, deletion and private-content use—have clear answers that you accept. Use wait when a support question or policy check could resolve an unknown. Use stop when a clear negative conflicts with a boundary you will not compromise, or when pressure prevents you from reviewing the agreement. Write one sentence explaining the decision. This stops a temporary discount or attractive character preview from rewriting your priorities. You can revisit a wait decision when new evidence arrives. You do not owe a service a purchase simply because you spent time researching it. Before choosing go, read your answers aloud without the product page open. If the decision still depends on a vague promise rather than a saved answer, move it back to wait. A decision that cannot survive ten quiet minutes away from the sales page is not ready yet.
